How to Set Up WhatsApp Validation

Prevent spam and ensure valid phone numbers by enabling WhatsApp validation.

Configuration

Enabling WhatsApp Validation helps ensure that users enter a valid phone number during checkout or profile updates. This is especially useful for reducing fake orders and improving communication with customers.

Navigate to EDD Dashboard → General. Scroll down to the WhatsApp Validation section.

Enable WhatsApp Validation. If you don't see this option, make sure the Phone Number Field feature is enabled.

Select the available validation service from the dropdown.

Enter your API Key provided by the validation service.

Click Save to apply the changes.

Once enabled, users will be required to enter a valid WhatsApp number on both the checkout and profile pages. If an invalid number is entered, an error message will be displayed and the form will not be submitted.

Supported Validation Services

Currently, the following services are supported for phone number verification:

  • Starsender

🔒 Note: Make sure your API Key is kept secure and has sufficient quota to avoid disruptions.

Why Use WhatsApp Validation?

  • Reduce fake purchases and spam registrations
  • Improve communication and follow-up using verified numbers
  • Ensure higher data quality for marketing or customer service
